<p>The<strong> </strong>remote development functionality in JetBrains products redirects IDE-heavy processing from a local machine to a powerful remote server, reimagining how teams work. With hardware performance no longer a limitation, developers can work from anywhere while benefiting from improved security, stability, and reliability.</p>
<p>We're looking for a QA Engineer to join the Remote Development team and take ownership of quality within their areas of responsibility, navigate ambiguity, and proactively improve product quality.</p>
<h2><strong>What you'll do</strong></h2>
<p><strong>Quality assurance </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Perform functional, exploratory, regression, and acceptance testing.</li>
<li>Ensure product stability and release readiness.</li>
<li>Investigate, document, and report defects, ensuring they are prioritized, resolved, verified, and successfully delivered to users.</li>
<li>Expand manual test case scenarios and keep existing ones up to date.</li>
<li>Take ownership of complex testing areas and drive quality improvements through proactive initiatives.</li>
<li>Monitor automated test execution results and troubleshoot test failures.</li>
<li>Contribute to UI test automation by maintaining and extending automated tests using our established framework.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Team collaboration</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Work closely with developers and product stakeholders to clarify requirements and identify risks when feature documentation is incomplete or evolving.</li>
<li>Update the internal knowledge base and share expertise with team members.</li>
<li>Cooperate with the support team to reproduce issues reported by our valued users.</li>
</ul>
<h2><strong>What we're looking for</strong></h2>
<h3><strong>Required skills</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Extensive hands-on QA experience.</li>
<li>Proficiency in spoken and written English.</li>
<li>The ability to read and understand Java or Kotlin code.</li>
<li>Experience working in cross-functional teams.</li>
<li>The ability to grasp new concepts quickly and to work both in a team and independently.</li>
<li>Strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage your own workload based on team goals.</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>Nice to have</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Experience testing developer tools, IDEs, and desktop applications.</li>
<li>Programming skills in Kotlin or Java sufficient to extend and maintain existing UI tests written using internal testing frameworks.</li>
<li>Experience working with Linux environments and an understanding of operating system fundamentals.</li>
<li>An understanding of networking fundamentals and their impact on distributed systems.</li>
